- Isabel grew up near Tyler, attended Robt. E. Lee High School,graduated from Tyler Jr. College, received a BA in sociology from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Masters in Library Science at Texas Woman’s University. Walt is from Dallas, went to Tyler Jr. College, received a BA in Zoology from the University of Texas,and a Masters in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M. Walt and Isabel met in biology lab at TJC and married in 1965. Walt spent 28 years at the Dallas Museum of Natural History collecting specimens, building exhibits,leading field trips throughout Texas, and helped bring Ramses the Great to Dallas in 1989. In 1992 he became the Director of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum and retired in 2004. Isabel worked in School libraries in Dallas, was Director of the Rockwall County Public Library and Public Service Librarian at the Richardson Public Library. She retired in 2003 from Cornette Library at West Texas A&M University.
Can't wait to see the finished book. I will be donating a copy to the Midwestern State University Library in October.
